14th World Congress on Public Health to be held in India in February

The 14th World Congress on Public Health will take place from 11 February 2015 to 15 February 2015 in Kolkata (India).

 

The theme for the 14th World Congress on Public Health is “Healthy People – Healthy Environment”.

 

World Congress on Public Health is an international Congress conducted every three years since 1975.The congress is organized by the World Federation of Public Health Associations (WFPHA) in collaboration with national public health associations that are members of the Federation. The congress is a big international event which is supported by UN Agencies, primarily the World Health Organization and UNICEF and is closely followed for its most valuable recommendations and input in on global public health concerns.

 

Participants of the congresses include delegates from public health associations of the world countries, as well as representatives from the public and private sectors, representatives from public health related sectors and NGOs based in member states of the World Federation of Public Health Associations.

Annual symposium of ITMO Public Health and ITMO Neurosciences on “Mental health, addiction and environment”

The annual symposium of ITMO Public Health and ITMO Neurosciences on “Mental health, addiction and environment” will take place on 8th and 9th December 2014 in Paris.

ITMO Public Health and ITMO Neurosciences are national institutes put in place by the French National Alliance for Life Sciences and Health (AVIESAN). AVIESAN is organized into 10 mutli-organization thematic institutes in order to coordinate all publicly funded research in the field of life sciences and health.

Three principal themes will be addressed during the two days: first session will be focused on addiction, the second on mental health and finally the third theme will focus on environmental aspects in the domain of toxicology, urbanization, psycho-social risk factors and work.

"Occupational exposure to pesticides", by Anses and EFSA

ANSES, in collaboration with EFSA, has decided to organise a conference to reflect the state of play in research into the risks of exposure for people working with pesticides. The conference will bring together French researchers and scientists, and some of their European and international peers to discuss scientific progress in the field of evaluating exposure to pesticides and to encourage an exchange of practices and knowledge at the scientific community level.
