As part of its scientific policy, InVS contributes to the movement of health data sharing, and wants to promote the use, by the scientific community, of the individual health data it produces or co-produces with partners.

The main sources of individual health data produced or co-produced by InVS are described in the Portal Epidemiology-France.

The list of these sources of data is available on this page, each with: a direct link to the description on the portal, a link to the theme folder or webpages of the InVS website corresponding to the area of ​​database .

Anchored in the BRIF (Bioresource Research Impact Factor) initiative, the Open Journal of Bioresources has been launched by Ubiquity Press on the 24th of July 2014.

The journal features peer-reviewed 'bioresource papers' helping researchers to locate and cite bioresources with high reuse potential. Making bioresources more openly discoverable has enormous benefits not only for the research community and the wider public, but for the producers of the bioresources as well.

Bioresource papers provide a concise description of a bioresource dedicated to human research - any collection of biological samples with associated data, biological related databases independent of physical samples or other collections of biomolecular and bioinformatics research tools - and where to find it. A bioresource paper is a publication that is designed to make other researchers aware of a bioresource that is of potential use to them for scientific purposes.

The journal is fully Open Access and will publish papers continuously throughout the year under the editorial leadership of Anne Cambon-Thomsen and colleagues.

The Haute Autorité de Santé (HAS) wishes to enroll in the policy of opening and sharing of public information advocated by the government, by identifying and making available to the public sets of raw data produced as part of its public service. Uploaded data are either bases formed within the HAS, or data files developed in support of HAS publications.

The first online data concern medicine evaluation, certification and indicators of quality and safety of care facilities. HAS will identify other datasets to be put online. These sets must meet the following conditions: relevance of data or application environment, sufficiently structured nature of the data.
