Arterial Stiffness Progression

July 07 2015

General objective: to evaluate the influence of haemodynamic, biological, and environmental factors on the progression of arterial stiffness in normotensive and hypertensive subjects, as well as role of genetic determinants. The first medium-term evaluation was carried out after 6 years of monitoring 680 patients (1998-1999). A second long-term evaluation is planned for the year 2008-2009 i.e. 10 years after the last evaluation. Secondary objectives: - To investigate haemodynamic, biological, and genetic determinants for telomere attrition (determinant in cellular ageing) over a period of 10 years (between 1999 and 2009) - To establish the relationship between arterial stiffness, parietal hypertrophy and carotid plaque during different visits.

Physical and neurological becoming of highly premature children in the Aquitaine region

July 07 2015

Study the neurologic and physical becoming of highly premature children (birth between 24 and 33 weeks of amenorrhea) at long term (seven years), in the framework of a multi-center study in the Aquitaine region. Natural history, prognostic factors, occurrence of long term neurological sequelae, in particular minor and moderate, the least known.

National register of des pediatric hematological malignancies

September 13 2017

1) Establish low incidence rates for the various types of leukemia and lymphoma.
2) Provide continuous follow-up of the incidence and detect any increase in the national or localized incidence.
3) Supply the estimation of the survival in the general population of the various types of leukemia and lymphoma.
4) Contribute to following-up on the risk of pediatric cancers in populations subjected to particular exposure (children who have had a scan, child of an HIV mother and treated during the perinatal period, environmental exposures).
5) Provide the data that will make it possible to evaluate the care sectors for children from the first symptoms until treatment.
6) Contribute to the work in research on the risks factors of cancer in children developed by the team on Environmental epidemiology of cancers of the CESP, INSERM U1018.

French National Registry of Childhood Solid Tumors (certified registry)

October 04 2017

Objectives in terms of public health (surveillance, evaluation):
1) Produce national reference rates on the incidence of solid tumors in children and on their histological distribution and monitor the geographical and temporal variations of this.
2) Provide the survival rates for the various cancers in the general population, all treatments taken as a whole and monitor the geographical and temporal variations in this.
3) Describe the care sectors followed by children, from the first symptoms to the treatment, and the methods for care as well as its determinants. Collaborate with clinicians of the French Society for the fight against Cancers in Childhood and Adolescent Cancers (SFCE) on the setting up of long-term follow-up of cohorts of children with cancer.

Objectives in terms of research:
Conduct and associate ecological studies and case/control studies concerning the risks of cancer associated with environmental exposure, population movements, the way of life and early conditions of exposure to common infections, genetic factors interacting or not interacting with the environmental factors (the etiologic research work is particularly developed by UMRS-1018 Team 6 of Inserm).
