Since July 16, the portal Epidemiology-France is certified by HONcode, which aims to certify the health websites committing to the eight principles of conduct developed by the Foundation Health On the Net Foundation (HON). This charter ensures that a website meets certain standards, particularly in terms of verifiability of information.
HON has established a code of conduct of conduct, the HONcode. HONcode is the most widely accepted for online health and medical publishers benchmark: more than 6500 sites are HONcode-certified in nearly 120 countries. In France, HON is mandated by the High Authority of Health (HAS) to certify French health sites.
Created in 1995, HON is a non-governmental and non-profit. It is accredited by the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations. It aims to improve the quality of information for patients and health professionals, and facilitate access to the most relevant and most recent medical data.
