E-health in the UK : personal medical data and research domain

E-health covers a wide range of applications, from telemedicine to electronic health record (e-data), including prevention or chronic diseases follow-up.

This document focus on e-data and their utilization, which raises central questions concerning personal data confidentiality, IT infrastructures management, digital switchover and health and research workers responsibilities. A panorama as complete as possible is introduced, including actors of the health field, strategies, financing, IT infrastructures and research centers, as well as ethical, security, questions, regulation and management.
