Additional information regarding sample selection. Patients were enrolled by 13 centres on 10 June 1974 Enrolment once a week for all ICA patients and 2 ICC patients that meet the inclusion criteria in centres participating in the study.
Database objective
Main objective To describe the demographic, clinical characteristics and practices regarding diagnostic and therapeutic treatment for patients admitted for acute heart failure and ambulatory patients with chronic heart failure in France.
Inclusion criteria - aged 18 and over
- patients with chronic heart failure or patients recently or not recently hospitalised for acute heart failure
- informed written consent

Exclusion criteria:
- patients refusing to participate
