Database objective
Main objective To describe, on a given day, the main characteristics (institution type, department type, age, gender, area and risk factors) of patients hospitalised in France; the prevalence and characteristics (infectious sites, microorganisms, antibiotic resistance) of potential nosocomial infections, the prevalence and characteristics (molecules, broad indicative categories) of possible anti-infection treatments received by patients.
Inclusion criteria All patients present on the day of the survey and admitted before 8:00 a.m. to target departments = short-term stay, after-care and rehabilitation, as well as long-term care .

Data collection method Data is collected and recorded by Operational Hygiene Teams (EOH) in each healthcare institution. Validation by Coordination Centres for The Control of Nosocomial Infections (CClin) and the French Institute for Public Health Surveillance (InVS).
Classifications used RAISIN nomenclature for infectious sites and microorganisms, ATC classification for anti-infection treatment.
Quality procedure(s) used CClin survey method training for researchers, common and shared validation procedures between CClin and InVS, no external validation by returning to records.
