Database objective
Main objective The first health survey was conducted in 1960-1961. The following surveys took place in 1970-1971, 1980-1981 and 1991-1992, and the last in 2002-2003. The objectives of the decennial health survey are: - to describe population health: reported morbidity and perceived health; - to provide quantitative data on health care usage and prevention (by volume and value); - to analyse health, health care usage and prevention in relation to sociodemographic characteristics (age, gender, profession ...) of individuals and their households.

Data collection method Data collection is assisted by a micro hand-held computer (CAPI). The last Health Survey in 2002-2003 has added several "self-administered questionnaires" (questionnaires completed by individuals), widely used internationally, on perceived health, working conditions past and present, as well as the description of a number of diseases.
