23 prison institutions 1,000 prisoners in metropolitan France and Martinique: 100 prisoners in 2 penitentiaries, 250 prisoners in 5 detention centres and 450 in 13 prisons), 100 female prisoners (2 institutions) and 100 male prisoners in an institution in an overseas department (Martinique). |

| Data collection method | Two clinicians (a psychiatrist and a clinical psychologist) will meet together with the person being questioned. The psychologist conducts a structured interview in accordance with the directions for the Mini International Neuropsychiatric Interview (MINI). The psychiatrist will carry out a free interview with the prisoner (personal, family and legal data before incarceration). The clinicians then each independently provide one (or more) diagnosis/diagnoses (from the MINI and clinical information); as a second step, they arrange and propose one (or more) diagnosis/diagnoses that they agree upon. They also evaluate, separately and then together, the severity of the person's state (CGI severity scale) and their history. |
