| Additional information regarding sample selection. | Patients were enrolled by 13 centres on 10 June 1974 Enrolment once a week for all ICA patients and 2 ICC patients that meet the inclusion criteria in centres participating in the study. |

| Main objective | To describe the demographic, clinical characteristics and practices regarding diagnostic and therapeutic treatment for patients admitted for acute heart failure and ambulatory patients with chronic heart failure in France. |

- patients with chronic heart failure or patients recently or not recently hospitalised for acute heart failure - informed written consent Exclusion criteria: - patients refusing to participate |
