Additional information regarding sample selection. Prospective. The enrolment period spanned from 1967 to 1972. Out of 8,297 identified subjects, 7,434 were accepted (or 90%). Other bodies active in creating this cohort: MAIRIE DE PARIS (Paris City Hall).
Database objective
Main objective To determine the incidence and prevalence of ischaemic cardiomyopathy (IC) among the French population and to quantify the risk associated with various risk factors.
Inclusion criteria - Men;
- Born in France;
- Employed as policemen in the civil service of the City of Paris;
- Aged between 43 and 55 years old during the enrolment period;
- Free from cardiovascular disease.

Details of collected clinical data Clinical examination at baseline and throughout follow-up. Examination frequency: first year and second year. Information collected during clinical examination: impromptu biological analyses (1st year: glucose load, insulin, fatty acids; 2nd year: lipid profile), systematic stress test at baseline, standard clinical examination for cardiovascular disease; events, anthropometry (1st year) and electrocardiography.
