Main objective The “chez soi d'abord” programme aims to test a new care initiative for homeless people with severe mental health problems by offering direct access to regular and sustainable housing with intensive social and healthcare support.
Inclusion criteria being over 18 years of age,
covered by French government health insurance including free state aid,
speaking French,
possessing a ‘higher’ level of needs
being absolutely homeless or precariously housed.
having been hospitalized for mental illness two or more times in any one year over the last five years, or having comorbid alcohol or substance use, or having been arrested or incarcerated over the last two years
providing informed consent to participate in the programme.
