Main objective |
The aim of this study is to observe adolescent behaviour following a suicide attempt.
This study shall determine and observe whether being lost to contact by medical staff the year following suicide attempt increases the risk of recurrence in adolescents (REPEATERS study) within 10 years of baseline suicide attempt. |
Inclusion criteria | Adolescents (aged 13-18) admitted to hospital following a suicide attempt between 1994 and 2000 at Nancy University Children's Hospital to study the impact of being lost to contact. |

Details of collected clinical data | Suicide attempt index; personal and family details were gathered from adolescent medical records: personal characteristics (sex, age, history of suicide attempts [yes/no]; psychiatric comorbidity [yes/no] according to classification; academic difficulties [yes/no] and family characteristics (marital relationship [separated or not]; employment status of each working parent [or not]; family history of suicide [yes/no] and parent alcohol dependence [yes/no]; details on length of hospitalisation; psychiatric follow-up [yes/no]; recurrence of suicide attempts throughout the year [early SA recurrence [yes/no]) and LCE (lost to contact early) status [yes/no]. |
