Additional information regarding sample selection. All children (less than 18) affected by psoriasis seen in consultation or hospitalized for psoriasis (in one of the 23 centers with investigators members of the French Society of Pediatric Dermatology Research Group) were included.
Control patients, children consulting for another reason than chronic or genetic inflammatory disease, were paired by age, sex and center.
Database objective
Main objective Cardiovascular and metabolic comorbidities are more frequent in psoriasis patients than in the general population. Limited data are available for children psoriasis. There seems to be a link between plaque psoriasis and obesity, even more marked when the child is affected by severe psoriasis. The main objective of this study is to assess the frequency of overweight (including obesity) in children affected by psoriasis, whatever the type of psoriasis.
