Additional information regarding sample selection. Participants were recruited through two-stage random sampling (clusters followed by households), stratified by socio-economic cluster level based on INSEE clusters. 0-4 year-old children and women of childbearing age were included in all randomly selected households to be over-represented. However, children aged 5-14 years old and other adults (men aged 15 and older and women aged 50 and older), were included in one in two households.
Database objective
Main objective To describe food consumption, physical activity and nutrition status of the population living in Mayotte, with particular focus on children under 5 years old and women of childbearing age.
Inclusion criteria Individuals living in an ordinary household in Mayotte and capable of understanding the aims of the study.

Procedures
Data collection method Data collection was realised at participants' homes in face-to-face interviews conducted by specially trained researchers. A questionnaire on housing characteristics was also completed by the household contact person. Anthropometric measurements and blood pressure were also taken. Individual food consumption data were collected using two 24-hours recalls conducted face-to-face. The first recall on the day of the first visit and the second recall one month later.
